Konecranes utilized its vast experience in explosion-proof applications, extensive resources and innovation in crane and component technology when developing the product range for environments.  The most competitive and comprehensive range of explosion-proof cranes and components is the result.  The range includes industrial cranes, jib cranes and manual cranes as addition to electric and manual hoists with lifting capacities from 125 kg to 100 tons.  Each component is designed and manufactured with hazardous atmospheres in mind, which has resulted in the highest safety level required in:

Safety First. Regulations and Standards

As of July 1, 2003, all New ATE X directives adopted by the European Union are mandatory.

Konecranes cranes and components are designed to meet the new ATE X directives.  European explosion-proof standards such as EN60079-0 /-1 /-7/-11/-15 are used on all Konecranes products.  Approved independent Notified Bodies type test all components, and CE marking and documentation is provided with all Konecranes products.

EXN Electric Chain Hoist for Hazardous Environments Konecranes’ EXN electric chain hoist family for hazardous environments is designed to meet the requirements of the user’s application.

There are several versions of the EXN hoist:

  • Stationary
  • Hook suspended
  • Push
  • Motorized trolley

Additionally, for Supersackhandling, a special low-headroom trolley is available.
